FlyXC

Victor Berchet, the author of FlyXC, has kindly authorized us to use his FlyXC webservice, a great tool to represent and analyze a Gps track.

Limitations d'usage

Warning

If FlyXC displays a trackless map, it means that the quota of the day has been reached.

FlyXC uses Google mapping APIs. In May 2018, Google announced a complete overhaul of its mapping offering for professionals. The free quota of 25,000 maps displayed per day on a website has been increased to 28,000, but per month (that's an average of less than 1000 per day). That is 25 times less than before. Meanwhile, the pricing beyond the free quota has increased from $0.50 per 1000 posted cards to $7.00. It has been multiplied by 14. So a site that posts an average of 10,000 cards per day goes from $0 before the new pricing policy to $1904 per month.

This pricing policy has affected FlyXC which can no longer accept too many postings. Each entry of a track from Logfly on FlyXC's server is counted on Logfly's Google account. In order to stay within the free limit, a quota has been established.

Fonctionnement

FlyXC requires loading the selected track on logfly.org followed by a call to the FlyXC server. The addresses of these servers are set and can be changed if necessary by going to the Configuration window, Internet tab.

These successive calls may not work and cause display problems in Logfly.
