Turnpoint prefix

This field is used to name each point making up the route.

Each point will be appointed using this prefix followed by its chronological order : XLF001, XLF002, etc. You can adopt the prefix of your choice.

Recipient

To be completed if the route should be sent by email.

Formats

There are two separate recording formats :

  1. Save the route like a drawing. This option will display the route on a mapping application as a simple route. Pro: no constraints Cons : no distance indication on the next point of the road. GPX format required
  2. Save the route as a succession of waypoints to reach. The application will consider that each of these point must be reached. This is the task principle in competition. If for one reason or another we decide to go directly to the second point, the application will permanently indicate the direction of the first waypoint. Pro : permanently display the distance and the cap for the next turnpoint cons : manual intervention necessary to jump a point. Choose the format according to the type of navigation application used.

Tip

Whatever the format chosen, you can display the route in Xcnav and save it in a different format.

GPX without markers

Recording in GPX format as "route drawing". If you have added markers, they are not included in the file. This format is not compatible with applications like XCTrack or XCSoar. Recommended for cartographic applications of smartphones. We will obtain a drawing with a line connecting each point of termination of the segments of the road.

GPX with markers

Identical in the previous format, if you have added markers, they will be included in the recording. We will obtain a drawing with a line connecting each point of the legs. Each marker will be represented by an icon.

GPX waypoints format

Only the ending points of the legs will be recorded. The route will only appear as a succession of waypoints to reach.

SeeYou (cup) format

Format used by GPS Naviter instruments. Only the ending points of the segments will be recorded and will appear as a succession of waypoints to be reached.

Google Earth (kml) format

In KML format, the route can be displayed in Google Earth software, or by a software recognizing the KML format.

XCTrack format

Specific to XCTrack software. After importing, it will be listed in the XCTrack/Waypoints folder. XCTrack can use Seeyou and GPSDump format.

GPSDump format

Specific to GPSDump format.
